Fixed width of web page or web page that stretches

I have one question in my mind, and always rolling. Question is regarding to web design layout. Is it better to have fixed width of web page or web page that stretches according to screen resolution, browser window width or screen width, any help welcome.

I think it depends on a variety of things, including the application, overall design of the site, and targeted demographic.

min-width & max-width fluid layouts are a nice balance between fixed and fluid design.

Fantastic answer. Such a answer I was looking for a long time. It’s a abstract one, but guide me in right direction to ask another question. Tell me what is preferred min-width and max-width of web page in liquid layout.

I think that you talk about of length line of text. In the high resolution the length line of text would be too much for reading and we will be forced to turn head left and right like in badminton game.
